August 5, 2012 - 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah Rhone blend. PnP. Red burgundy/maroon coloring, though the closed-down nose is somewhat disappointing. I do get faint traces of stewed plums, bubblegum, vanilla, and black pepper. The palate is where this shines though, with loads of ripe, ripe fruit, mostly blackberries, cherry liqueur, blueberry jam, and secondary characteristics of charred meat and espresso. Medium-full body, fat with silky yet grippy tannins, subtle acid, this is nicely balanced. Great now, good for another 5+ years easily. Too bad this is my last one! 5+9+17+8 = 89
