August 8, 2012 - Drank this earlier this week while we were in Hermitage. Tasted the 2001, 2004, and 2007 La Chapelle at Paul Jaboulet tasting room (60 euros!!!). They weren't pouring the 2009, so purchased a bottle and opened it to compare vintages and see how the wines have been evolving. '09 has most complexity, but obviously too young to truly appreciate. Candied blueberries, cherries, and a bit of licorice. Nice acidity balances strong tannins.Would like to try again in 1-2 decades. Have pre-ordered 3 btls + mag of 2010 La Chapelle from Dan @ Amazing Grapes. Will not open a bottle for 1-2 decades for sure.
