November 28, 2012 - 12 bottles of 02 cabs present. all of us knew what was there, but no one knew the order/flights etc. i decanted this about six hours prior to start of the dinner/tasting. big wine right out of the glass. big full nose of dark fruits, choc, coffee and oak (but not overpowering oak.) the mouth feel is huge with a touch of heat/astringency at tip of tongue. then on the palate this sings. perception of sweet that i attribute to the wonderful ripe black and dark blue fruit mixing with the chocolate. the oak and tannins are peresent but wonderfully integrated for the most part. seamless into the back palate and thru to the finish, which seems to last forever. this did not make my top three tonight and finished tied for seventh overall from the group. (bond st eden, les pavots and maya were 1,2,3 for the group)
