December 17, 2012 - Bright red color with brick-colored rim showing some maturity. Lots of smoky, wet-stone minerals on the nose, complemented by leather, meat stock and red berries. High, relentless acidity and potent, very fine, silky tannins. Unripe berries dominate the taste - lingonberries and cranberries. Minerals abound. 1500m is supposedly the highest vineyard on the peninsula - too high if you ask me. The structure and minerality of the wine is mighty impressive but it is obvious that the fruit didn't ripen fully.
