February 18, 2007 - Not decanted - popped and poured. Dark purple in color. Beautiful nose - immediately opened up. Rich, fruity and deep. Notes of plums, chocolate, cedar and spice. Very similar on the palate. Plenty of concentrated fruit, with a streak of balancing cedar and a note of cinammon (?). Still lots of life in this bottle. Everything seems in balance at this point. Tannins are still present, but nicely integrated into the wine and the finish, which is long and lingering - a beautiful combination of power and elegance. Drinking beautifully tonight.
