Community Tasting Note

  • DTWOB Likes this wine: 96 points

December 29, 2012 - With over 1,000 notes, this is only my third 96 rating. Popped, double vinaerated and left to breathe for four hours. Deep, dense, dark eggplant color with a dark garnet rim, using the fresh snow and sun as a backdrop for the color analysis. Wonderful fragrance of dark fruit. WOW, WOW, WOW - what a powerful, focused fruit forward taste, medium/heavy body, best integration of tannis ever, nice balance of fruit and acidy with a finish that is dark berry driven for well over 10 minutes. - really!! Numerous hidden gems over, under and around this wine that makes the experience even more enjoyable. Consumed during and after an English beef pot roast dinner 4 hours total. Great for sipping.

12/29/12, 5:41 PM - Thanks for the great TN -- very helpful. Been wondering when to start opening this -- by your account, sounds like tmw night would work just fine.
