February 27, 2013 - Washington Cabs $20 to $40: I know my score is low and in fact, some in the group liked this more than I. I just couldn't get past the oak. Those who liked it acknowledged they liked the oak, the vanilla, the crem brulee. There is some fruit here, but I am not sure where this goes. I wouldn't mind trying it in the future, but I had real trouble with this. Also a lot of heat on the finish. Seemed to be a divisive wine.

6/1/17, 12:35 PM - I did not have an overwhelming impression of oak from this wine. Having said that, I was born and raised in Eastern, WA and have bene drinking the Woodward Artist series since the late 90's. For me it's a reference point and something I love. I buy this wine every year and still have bottles to drink as far back as the '98 vintage. At the end of the day i am 100% convinced we need to follow our pallets and drink want we love. A wine critic or a peer who disagrees with my taste is not going to change my pallet! I'd be happy to share some of the '98 with you if you were ever curious to see how these wines age out!
