  April 1, 2013 - The oak perfume was still very dominant on the nose when the bottle was first opened. During the first glass, the wine made a very young impression, with tight fruit aromas, lots of oak and refined spicy elements. The longer the bottle's been open, the more the typical herbaciousness of the Blaufränkisch takes over on the palate, providing good structure and juicy but present tannins. The finish shows nice acidity. The Merlot component really shows on the nose, providing ripe cherry fruit. Good wine. Needs at least 3-5 more years though.
