Etonian Likes this wine: 91 points
April 13, 2013 - Slo ox for over 4 hours. Quite a bit of oak with butter, vanilla, and wood smoke. Did a double decant for a couple more hours and some blackberry gained a foothold. Also cola, spice, and anise showed in the background. Full bodied with soft mouthfeel. Next day the oak was toned down and in balance with the acidity but the fruit was still subdued. Very enjoyable wine but not for the oak averse right now. Suspect there is potential for much more. Would suggest holding for at least 2-3 years and expect it will show better. If you like a wine with a solid amount of oak then no need to wait.
