April 14, 2013 - This is a beautiful bottle from Cathy Corison! The nose had a nice full aroma of dark cherry and plum that didn't overpower. The mouth was full of dark fruit but still silky and smooth. This is in a pretty good spot right now! I didn't decant but had the bottle open for 90 minutes prior to drinking. Drink now to 2016.

4/23/13, 3:35 PM - I tasted it at the winery last week. It seems to me that this wine could easily make its 20th birthday

5/9/13, 4:32 PM - I'm with dog here. Cathy rates the 05 as almost as good as her best, the 01, and even her average years are 20-year-worthy ones, though she likes to drink them at all ages. I reclon you could happily drink this in 2040!

5/9/13, 5:23 PM - I hope you guys are right because I love Corison wine and I own a ton of it. My drinking window on Cathy's wines use to be 20-22 years but I have had some older bottles that were certainly better around 10-11 years old. This lead me to an experiment...I opened a verticle for a group of experienced tasters to taste blind of Corison 1993-2007 in February 2013. The group all came up with 9-11 years of age on the bottle was drinking best. This was a costly experiment but I agreeded with the conclusions. That is why I used the drinking window I did but again I sure hope this 2005 last longer because it is a beauty!

5/13/13, 3:12 PM - I own a ton of it too! I wish I'd been at that tasting... but glad to hear. Of course you have to allow for the tastes and upbringing of your friends: if they were French or British you may have had wildly different opinions (and diverse there too).
Any data on which years were preferred at 9-11 years, and any ideas why (characteristics of those wines)?
