April 26, 2013 - Slow ox. for 6 hours then decanted for another hour. For such a young Brunello this was drinking best after an hour into the meal. Beautiful red fruit smooth palate and fine tannins on the long finish. This was rounder than the 2006 with finer tannins but very close in quality. I find the 2006 has more structure in the mid-palate. This still needs a few years but with a healthy decant can be enjoyed today.

5/6/13, 7:17 AM - thanks for comparing to '06 - very helpful reference points that'll keep me from committing any more exploratory infanticide (for a while anyway :).

    6/28/13, 2:23 PM - Hi Uncle John,

I have 11 bottles left of the 2007 vintage. Have not purchased the 2006. Since I think the 2007 is a wonderful wine should I be getting a couple bottles of the 2006?

    Thanks-Dave

6/30/13, 10:17 AM - vintage1949. I would try to find some 2006 as it is probably a bit better than the 2007. I understand the 2008 is not to far off as well. Tenuta Nuova is a more modern version of Brunello that I love. Enjoy.
