  April 27, 2013 - This is a fascinating wine. Dusky earth on the nose. Smooth texture, but not soft -- good acid, even at this age. Italianate in this way. Good minerality. Difficult to pin down the fruit in this -- that's one of the things that makes this wine so intriguing. Some dried cranberry, some sour cherry...can't put my finger on it. I really like this, though. I have two more bottles. I wish I had 8.

  4/28/13, 7:55 AM - I popped and poured. I'll try a decant next time -- I think the nose might have settled a bit if I had.
