Community Tasting Note

April 7, 2007 - Dumbfounded by Dominus (Kirkland, WA): Pickle-barrel nose. Root beer, brett, spicy, forest floor. Definitely near the end of its life. Austere. Fruit is all dried up. Faint almond notes on the finish. Nose is better than the palate.

11/4/13, 7:11 AM - Do you think the bottle might have been flawed? It seems that other trackers have had better results. Wondering on whether to get one or two to try.

11/4/13, 7:15 AM - No, not flawed. This was part of a tasting with 7 other experienced tasters. No one suggested it was flawed.

At that age, there are no great wines, only great bottles. For whatever reason, very few of the wines showed well at that tasting. Keep in mind also that this was 6.5 years ago.
