GRAPE VARIETIES: SAPERAVI
ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 13,0%
Appearance: Clear, deep ruby.
Clean nose of medium(+) intensity. Aroma characteristics: ripe black and - hints of - dried fruit (elderberry, blackcurrant, prunes) with additional notes of pungent and sweet spice (liquorice, cinnamon).
Dry on the palate with high level of acidity and medium(+) level of chewy tannin. Medium level of alcohol, medium(+)-bodied. Medium intensity. Aroma characteristics are repeated on the palate, but with less intensity. Medium length.
Quite interesting. There is a certain nobility and elegance about this wine, but the palate is kind of hollow, which is slightly dissapointing. Still, an overall positive experience - and for some reason I find myself comparing this wine to Baga-wines from the Bairrada-region in Portugal. Ready to drink, but will keep.1,252 views
