August 9, 2013 - Chocolate covered cherries, plum, black raspberry liqueur and earthy notes create the bouquet. The wine is structured, powerful, tannic , fresh and deep, finishing with a concentrated blast of sweet, ripe, dark cherries that remains on your palate for at least 40 seconds. Not as sexy as the 2009, but this will be a much longer lived wine.

    10/15/13, 8:15 PM - Hey Jeff,

Quick question for you. You've tasted the 08, 09 and 10 La Fleur Petrus. Did you pick up any barnyard or gamey notes on the palette? And or foresee these character notes with about 10 years of aging in the future? I haven't opened my LFP bottles but just wanted to find out if this chateau is traditionally known for those barnyard or gamey flavours on the palette.

Thanks kindly for your advice in advance,
    WineMan

10/17/13, 9:04 AM - Everything I found in the wine is always in the tasting notes. I do not see these wines developing those characteristics in the future. If you want to know what a good bottle of La Fleur Petrus tastes like with some age, buy a bottle of the 1998 or 2000. They are very good wines. I have them in my own cellar. Does this help?

10/17/13, 10:45 AM - I am not sure what 2010 La Fleur Petrus costs versus 2009 La Fleur Petrus. But IMO, 2009 La Fleur Petrus is stunning! It's the wine to buy...

10/17/13, 11:47 AM - Thanks! I have one bottle of the 09 and managed to get a couple of the 2010s due to a longer aging potential. Prices are about the same here (high). And fairly limited.
