  August 13, 2013 - Not sure what to make of this wine. My initial sip of it was very good, a fairly smooth wine with berries and a hint of sweetness. It quickly turned into something much different. I got a lot of spiciness to it, some bramble notes. It reminded me very much of a spicy zin, and didn't have many typical cab notes to it. Even on the second day it seemed to retain much of the spice with a little bit of oak and general smokiness. I kept waiting for it to smooth out as others noted, but it just didn't seem to come together for me. It was still a good wine on its own, but was not your typical cab.
