August 21, 2013 - Fairly open to begin with, but by day 6 this wine combines lightness with finesse & elegance. Reminds me of the ligther 98s from Pomerol that I have had.
Even better day 7, as the merlot has mellowed even further. 94 pts.

9/6/13, 5:08 AM - Thanks fOr the note. How did you store the wine over the 7 days? It sounds like this wine could use a few more years in the cellar, n'es pas?

9/6/13, 6:14 AM - After opening I almost always just keep my wines in the kitchen, rarely in the fridge. And I put the cork back on. Most wines, although 10 years or older, gain from 24 hour of air or more. I have bumped into a wine that is at its peak day 1, but that is very rare, is my perception.
My guess is store this wine for another 5 years or so, maybe longer.

I once noticed that someone wrote that 24 hours of air is like 1 year in the cellar, and maybe that is true. That would then indicate 6-8 years of storage.
