September 21, 2013 - Heady, with layers of dark fruit, tar and dirt. Lacks freshness and structure.

9/22/13, 2:45 PM - I am not sure that I understand what you are trying to say. A heady layered fruity wine cannot really lack freshness in my book. It is very possible this wine is in a dormant stage, I wouldn't know, but it seems that your note is conflicting.

9/23/13, 12:20 PM - I cant see why something heady with layers of dark fruits, tar and dirt by definition is fresh? i got tired after just one glass due to the flavor profile and the general heaviness of the wine...

Anyways, the bottle has been stored on the cooler side, and is perhaps still in a dumb phase. - or maybe modern ch9 is not for me.

Still. Thanks for the input, maybe my tasting notes gets better with riesling?
