Community Tasting Note

October 18, 2013 - Cellared since release. Intact cork, fill into neck. Poured off a small taste at noon (pretty tight/closed) and left to slow-ox for 7 hours based on recent CT notes. Dark red core, lightening at rim but no bricking. Cherries, moist clean earth, peppery spice and smoked meat played off of each other to form a very enticing complex nose. This is a wine you could just smell all night. Medium-full body, beautiful balance between rich complex fruit, refreshing acidity and tannins which are still evident but not intrusive. Flavors follow the nose with a constantly changing, totally captivating complexity, long smooth finish. This is drinking beautifully but needs lots of time to open up. Should continue to drink well for decades. Extraordinary!
