April 8, 2011 - This wine has an extremely exotic nose, although a bit shy due to its youth, its filled with lavender, tar, smoke, incense, ground coffee, cedar, dark cherries, and on the end blueberries & blackberries melted down into a jam and mixed with cream. The wine also appears to be a bit viscous on the eye, with a great dark core and a vibrant youthful purple on the rim.

On the palate the wine enters with a juicy dark fruit flavor, then immediately there’s a bridge that leads toward the mid-palate effortlessly. The wine bursts with blueberry flavors intermixed with sour cherries, and small hints of dark chocolate. The finish is dominated by opulent vanilla cream flavor which makes the wine a bit sweet until slight woody flavors with a dab of unripe green fruit appear. Alas, balance is kept.

This wine has a few flaws, 2007 was a difficult year in the region; however the wine is quite complex and thought provoking. The flavor is a bit light on the end, and its missing some body. However, besides flavors the texture is very delicate and silky with very polite and polished tannins.
