August 27, 2013 - A dark colored wine with an opaque appearance, its youth is still evident on the bright crimson red color on the rim. Amazing complexity on the nose revealing plums, blackberries, kirsch, truffles, leather, roasted meats, violets, black tea, underbrush, black pepper, and Oriental spices. Smooth texture on the palate revealing black cherries, raspberries, blackberries on the attack leading to a mid palate filled with licorice, dark chocolate, roasted meats, and well integrated acidity. The finish is quite long with notes of krisch, cassis, figs, black peppers, and crushed stones. A mid to full bodied wine with great elegance, concentration, and balance between sweet fruit, acidity, and velvety tannins.
