  November 8, 2013 - A stunning, perfectly seamless and integrated Merlot, this wine is no exception to the rule: Shafer is a truly skillful producer. The nose offers up classy crème de cassis, deep red fruit and a rather expressive tone of minerals and perhaps som red meat. There is also a very varietal typical "creaminess" - sometimes hard to describe with words but very often found in Merlots. The length on the finish lasts some 45 seconds and adds to the impression of a lovely, massive yet quite elegant Merlot.
