December 7, 2013 - I found this wine disappointing. The wine has a lot to offer in terms of complexity and previous reviews document the flavor profile pretty well, so I won't repeat them. However I found that tannins overshadow the wine and were harsh, considering that this is an 07. A few hours in the decanter helped, but it may be that even now (2013) this bottle is not ready. I will try again in 2015.

1/16/14, 7:09 AM - I do recall this bottle clearly. In the review, my reference to "a few hours in the decanter helped" was an indication that the tannins were getting softer, but there was no evolution to a higher level.
My review did not include my notes from the following day which may be helpful. The wine was stored with a vacuum seal at room temp. The second evening, the bottle was showing better but I felt as if the wine was starting to fade. If I recall correctly there were big improvements in the savory character of the pallet. My opinion is that somewhere in the middle of these tastings is a "sweet spot" that I managed to miss completely.
If you try, please let me know if you have better luck than I did. I plan to hold my remaining bottles until 2015. Hope this helps. -
