December 9, 2013 - Nose: There is definitely a fleshiness to the nose with dark red cherries, campfire smoke, licorice, and red berry notes. While this shows a riper style, the oak isn't too obtrusive.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium acidity and very gripping tannins. The structure is extremely youthful and it's fairly imposing. Under the structure lie dark red cherries, campfire smoke, red berries, licorice and currants.

Overall: Like many 2010s, this shows some wicked tanll be very interesting tnins. The structure is pu shows a riper nishing, but there is a quality wine underneath. Yes, this is a riper merlot, but it holds it well and there is an attractiveness to it. This certainly has room for improvement and it will be a lot of fun to drink when it gets there.
