December 16, 2013 - Oh, my, what a superbly rich and beautifully-crafted wine. An inscrutably complex and rich nose hints at the magnificent palate experience to come, with persistent notes of concentrated cherry predominating in a most elegant background structure. A massive tannic backbone assures this will have a life of 30 to 40 years or more. It benefits greatly from at least 3 hours of air, don't try this as a pop-and-pour. Then, savor it as an a meal accompaniment, it really comes into its own compared to a standalone tasting. Superb, utterly superb, this is one of the top CdP's of this magnificent vintage in the southern Rhone.
