A bit of heat, but not discordant. Tarry, tobacco, black fruit, long finish. Would not have picked it blind as a California syrah which is about the best compliment I have for a Cali syrah. Not scoring it, but it's a low 90s wine. And it paired beautifully with sauteed sausages, peppers and onions.
