December 25, 2013 - Christmas Dinner 2013 (Reno, NV): light color, youngish appearing rim... aromatically quite open with lots of mineral tinged red fruits and slight green notes... on the palate very high acidity, a fleshy midpalate, still plenty of tannins left which are barely ripe. balanced wine with very good length, intensity, and complexity. has plenty of finesse, a firm but fine texture, classic expression of place. the tannins still have more evolving to do but i suspect they will outlive the midpalate on this wine. drink over the next 3-5 as i suspect this wine is close to its peak.

Since Jaimie and Ashe know the chef, I was able to bring in wine for 'staff education'. It was a huge hit and they want me back with wine anytime. A good excuse for a Denver trip.
