Community Tasting Note

December 27, 2013 - Dark purple, almost black, with a bit of bricking. Nose of blueberries/blackberries, light oak, with hints of eucalytus and a little barnyard at first opening. Fills the mouth with balanced fruit (raspberries to me) and nice acidity. The finish continues on and on ending with light acidity, medium tannins.

12/28/13, 10:29 AM - Hi! Had my first (out of four) recently as well. It had a tough standing against 1996 cos destournel but clearly a great backbone! Question: did you decant? How long would you give this one to develop fully? Best regards from Switzerland!

12/28/13, 7:08 PM - Update: I decanted half the bottle and gave it about an hour of open time before tasting and making notes. There was a little barnyard at first opening, but it blew off. The next day, the balance in the stoppered bottle was a bit softer up front than the decanted tasting, however, a bit more acidic on the finish (the 2nd day). We will taste a 2002 from the cellar soon.
