January 11, 2014 - This took a few hours to settle into it's rhythm, thereby giving the oak some time to lighten up. Light gold color, nice shimmer and big legs. The bouquet was very oak heavy to start, but several hours in it was barely there and eventually the fruit was the dominant element. Peach, apple, pear, grapefruit, lime, and a hint of butter. Palate is reinforced with prominent acidity. The body is lighter than the legs suggest and even though the label states 13.8%, it is wonderfully cool going down. Medium-long finish with a little appearance at the end of some subtle hazelnut. I think it has enough structure to go a few more years, at least. 5+11+16+9 = 91
