January 24, 2014 - AMAZING. I opened the bottle hours before dinner and let breath. I didn't decant because it already had a smooth palate. Tannins were not biting, but I was hoping more aromas would emerge. Sure enough, they did. Beautiful nose deep dark fruits (specifically cassis), sweet tobacco, some pepper, earth. Balance palate of dark fruits. Lingering finish. Perfect with our beef tenderloins. The wine is in a really good place. Obviously, it can age for years as well depending on personal preferences.
