March 4, 2014 - There was definite funk when first opened, but it mostly blew off after a few hours (what was left wasn't offensive and actually worked well with the rest of the wine). Dark color. Aside from the barnyard, there was initially dark berry fruits (think boysenberries) and plums, as it got more air there was lots of licorice. Fullish, ripe fruit, but plenty of balancing acidity. The tannins were a little woody. Clean, snappy finish with a couple interesting turns. Nice length. Drinking nice right now.
