March 11, 2014 - The 2009 Domaine Robert Groffier Gevrey-Chambertin is medium (-) garnet in colou rwith a seductive nose of sweet gooseberries, bright sour cherries, some compact wet soil and dried sweet and sour prunes.

On the palate, the wine displays an entry of fresh currants with some bright red cherries. This then progresses to some dried prunes and noticeable gentle woodiness, some acidity follows after. Very transparent and pretty focused despite a 'linear' style. Decent, simple structure but overall, rather balanced. Simplicity at its best here.
