March 12, 2014 - Big nose of ripe tree fruits, creamy, and a new american oak, vanilla, and coconut. The aromas follow through on the palate along with a wonderful acidity to balance the concentrated flavors. On the edge of being too big but it isn't. It remains balanced and even has a lightness the the aromas and flavors do not predict. It smells like it might be an overblown Cali Chard but it isn't.

10/23/21, 8:08 PM - Thanks. We’ve really backed off of new barrels (all François and Taransaud), only using about 15% in the RRV and Ft. Ross-Seaview , and 20-25% in the single vineyards. Still native yeast and bacteria, unfiltered, 20 months on lees for the single vineyards, 12 months for the AVA.
