April 5, 2014 - Opened two hours before serving as part of 2004 Rioja Reserva and Gran Reserva tasting.

Purple garnet with slight orange on the rim. Leathery barnyard plummy nose. Medium(-) very smooth. Zippy cranberry slightly sour flavors. Seems to be a lot of variation in these bottles.

4/8/14, 5:37 AM - Found the same thing...amazing wine when you get a good bottle. However, I've found traces of TCA in a couple of the bottles of the case I've been working down. i stick with them though only because they are so darn good and my retail shop never seems to care when I tell them the bottle is bad

4/8/14, 7:41 PM - I agree on the bottle variation. Of the seven Riojas opened for the tasting this one had the cheapest cork and the highest (by far) production and it was not the cheapest wine.
