  May 24, 2014 - Yeah I know, too early to open one but that is how I roll. Popped and poured a small glass and decanted the rest. The first glass showed some tannins but not as much as I expected for a young wine. Very smooth. Two hours later: cherry, a little soil on the nose. Still some tannins and cherry. some alcohol on the nose but not really noticeable on the palate to me but my wife notices it.

  5/27/14, 5:39 AM - i popped this side-by-side with upland on saturday night, finished upland on sunday, got a bit more into bacchus on sunday, then finished bacchus on monday. upland took a little longer to open, but blew baccus away at this young stage. bacchus opened faster, then shut down. day 3 was best.

  5/27/14, 3:51 PM - Thanks for the note. My wines arrived today not heated, TG. So I will just keep them in the cellar for awhile. I was tempted to drink one of them, but I don't think the PB team needs to fund that adventure, when I have not doubt about shipping now. wish the FP wines weren't baked. They will be early drinker, especially the 08 Saint Laurent. I would have chose the Bacchus if I had, thanks to Chris's notes. I haven't opened any of my rasa reds, but have burned through almost full case of whites since last Spring. finally the PG is getting very good, now that I have no more..lol.

  5/27/14, 7:40 PM - I guess I have to open an Upland this weekend. Of course I will be with the in-laws this weekend and surrounded by four kids. I will need to open a lot of wine.
  
  Interesting that the Upland beat the Bacchus. When we barrel sampled we liked the Bacchus more but Jeff like the Upland more.
