June 3, 2014 - Lots of deep red fruit on the nose along with hints of cinnamon and other herbal tones, maybe sage. Nice full body with a bit of tannic prickliness on the tongue at first, mellowing into a smooth finish that left a pleasant mossy impression. Showed as reasonably young. I decanted for two hours and that really wasn't enough; it opened up considerably over an evening of quaffing. It made a surprisingly nice complement for pork steaks spiked with herbs, as the sage / cinnamon notes in the wine really elevated the herbs on the meat.
Bought two bottles and will see if I can wait another year on the second one...1,187 views
