September 11, 2014 - Nerello-based wines are often compared to pinot, but this bottle more resembles an aglianico or even a basic Barolo. Deep pitched red, with mineral, soil, tar, and volcanic rock notes (though the Faro soils are not like those in Etna). Medium body, relatively food friendly. Very good now, I wonder how this would age?

9/12/14, 2:52 PM - I tried a bottle back in March, and I definitely think it will be better with age. FWIW, the importer (Oliver McCrum) also finds the wine "young" right now (my paraphrase).

1/25/15, 2:55 AM - met him last summer (2014) the maker also wonders how this would age. production started only recently, so no record of that. let's check back in a decade and see?
