Community Tasting Note

November 6, 2014 - Slate and apple on the nose. Tight ripe acidity on the palatte - lemon. Medium long but slightly unpleasant finish of sour apple / lemon. A sense of puckering. Sadly it's not bottle variation as I've got a few of these in the cellar. Is this unbalanced acidity? I'm inexperienced and not positive, but I think so. Lacks minerality on the palatte. Not enough fruit to balance the acidity.

11/7/14, 7:54 AM - Thank you for your review. I tried this at the chateau last summer and really liked it, so I bought a bottle and was actually thinking about drinking it soon. How long has it been since you last had one and had it not evolved in any way? Could it be in its "dormant" phase now? That would actually make some sense after about 5 years in bottle.

11/7/14, 8:02 AM - Glad my note helped you. I bought a case while in Burgundy in summer 2012. I last tasted this a year ago. Similar tartness but perhaps not quite as pronounced. Yes, best bet is a long sleep. You aren't missing anything by waiting.
