Community Tasting Note

  • dream Likes this wine: 98 points

November 21, 2014 - Decanted for 5 hours and it needed every minute. What a fantastic wine with great class and breed. There is incredibly deep, dark fruits with a wonderful licorice note that is utterly gorgeous! So perfectly balanced with a traditional taste profile and an unbelievably sleek, silky texture. Just showing the beginnings of maturity with an incredibly long, fine, complex finish with notes of smoke, minerals, forest floor, tar, roses, red silk...whatever. This is a spectacular, seamless wine that blew away every other Barolo at the table tonight and the only reason I don't give it 100 points is because it is so young and really going to improve! 98+

I would say that out of bottle it is just at the beginning of its drinking window so would think a minimum of 5 more years before I would attempt it out of magnum.
