  September 23, 2007 - Very dark purple in color. On the nose, berries, plum, oak and coffee grounds. Palate is similar, although over the course of the evening, the coffee ground note faded, as did the oakiness. At its' peak tonight (which occurred after around 4 hours after opening), the wine was drinking well, with clean, concentrated fruit, plenty of power on the palate and in the finish, and a very nice feel to the wine. A good start to the trip!
