3/20/15, 1:00 PM - it is light bodied with a slight frame. I don't believe the wine will offer much more in terms of complexity. It is very simple IMO and will remain that way. I am familiar with Metras' wines, and am most disappointed by this vintage!

3/21/15, 9:28 AM - In the October 2014 Wine Terroirs piece on Métras, it's mentioned that "the very old parcels" of his Moulin-à-Vent vines were uprooted "since 2012". It's not clear if that was before the 2012 harvest but I suppose the loss of the old vines might have contributed to the 2012 vintage of this wine being disappointing. Perhaps his 2013 Moulin-à-Vent will give a better idea of what effect the uprooting had.

3/21/15, 9:36 AM - Thanks for the insightful reference. I read that blog but did not retain that information.
At the end of the day, 2012 is a weaker vintage.
