April 7, 2015 - Dark, gold, straw yellow, a touch murky. Honey, vanilla, toasty, very ripe citrus fruit, oak (6+ months in the barrel) and mucho complex. Stunning balance, nice acidity. Long and mature finish. This is a Nicole Kidman wine of immense stature, full-body, soaring heights and regal confidence. It may hang on a few more years, but no longer than 2017.

BTW we also drank many bottles of a Piedmont Chardonnay '98 called Giarone from Bertelli at the old San Domenico in NY. It was equally phenomenal.

Glad to hear these still drink well.

We first sipped what we consider to be one of the best Chardonnays on the planet at Gaja where we were fortunate to attend a tasting. Others were spitting. We slowly sipped. After all, how can one spit such a magic drop!?
