I also love this wonderful wine, and just a brief note: I don't have any inside information, but this wine I believe was rolled out into international distribution only 7-10 years ago, I can't figure any reason the bottles would have been topped off, just LdH retained them in their cellars for 25 or so years.

4/20/15, 8:17 AM - Thanks Steve. It tasted very young and fresh... Unlike other bottles I've had from the 80's and 70's ( though they were in great shape too). Perhaps it is just an incredibly well preserved wine... In which case it's probably worth waiting another decade!

4/20/15, 12:28 PM - It's often amazing how fresh these wines can be at this age...seems like the early seventies bottlings are just getting funky and the mid sixties are drinking perfectly in my experience.
