April 10, 2015 - Well, this is why we taste wines blind. This is a wine from a vineyard owned by Sting. It turned out to be my favorite wine of the tasting among seven wines, including the warm up, and it was the group's second favorite. I would have probably been a little biased going in knowing a celebrity was attached to a vineyard. A couple of months ago I tried a shot of Haig Scotch done with affiliation with David Beckham and British music producer Simon Fuller it was definitely DNPIM (do not put in mouth). So I was surprised to find out it has ties to Sting.
This isn't a profound wine. It's not a wine to cellar. But it has nice balance and elegance like a good Beaujolais Village. It's a good food wine.
It's mostly black fruits and some cedar. There's a little bit of a tannic spine I don't usually notice in sangiovese. It may be from the syrah blended in. Good but not great finish. It seems like it was made for restaurant wine lists. Imported by Maritime Wine Trading Collective.

10/13/15, 11:37 AM - Now this is a helpful review. None of that bogus "shaved #2 pencil with hints of cranberries grown only in temperate climates, Easter candy and meteor dust". Although I'm a little guilty of that too.
