May 30, 2015 - Consumed over 2 days. Translucent garnet in the glass. On the nose, some red fruit notes, with crushed raspberry, pomegranate, and then leaning a bit darker with plum type aromas, accented with fresh herbs, menthol, coriander and wood spice. On the palate, the texture is plush; well polished; with tastes of pomegranate, cranberry, underripe plum, mint, and light herbal undertones. The finish is moderate, with a touch of tannic grip, with the medium acids lingering on the palate. There is a touch of bitterness on the back end that I've found common amongst the 2011s I've tried that holds this back from being more enjoyable.
