July 14, 2015 - Just barely entering its drinking window. Intense, gripping nose of tropical fruit and honey. Lovely viscosity. A dazzlingly complex palate, almost too busy though I suspect the favors will harmonize over time. Lychee, honeyed mango, candied citrus, saffron, and piercing acidity. Very long finish. Less botrytis than other vintages I've had.

7/15/15, 2:08 AM - Thanks for your comments and rating. We have barely started sipping the 2002 for fear of youth. Do you really think the 2008 is drinking well now? We have a case so no worries if we try young to experience the change. Just curious...thanks!

7/15/15, 10:38 AM - Hi, Buzzzz... this was available on an airplane so I wasn't about to pass in the hopes it would come my way again (!) -- that said, it was barely entering that drinkable phase: nothing wrong with opening it so soon, but honestly, why bother?!
