September 27, 2015 - Champagne - 100 Vintage and NV Champagne; 12/15/2015-12/15/2020: Reserved nose of white fruit, a bit metallic, very little bakery. Good perlage on the palate but a bit lean. Not my cup of tea of an NV Champagne.

9/27/15, 3:50 PM - Are you certain it was a Charles and not a Piper Heidsieck you had? Charles has a high dosage and a huge amount of reserve wines, which in my oppinion makes it very generous and rich.

9/27/15, 8:01 PM - thanks Rolf for the hint. Just looked at the photo I have taken from the bottle, Charles it was. Given your comment I certainly have to go back to this and re-taste some time.

3/9/17, 4:42 AM - With Charles Heidsieck, it's always worth checking the disgorgement date. It really needs two years under cork to show well.
