November 19, 2015 - The qualifier is I opened this two days after receiving it and only gave it about 1.5hrs in the decanter. That said, it was disappointing for an $80 wine. Opened a $45 12' Lewelling Napa Valley yesterday that bested it by a decent margin. The nose was exceptional, but sadly the taste didn't live up to expectations. It is an elegant wine with nice balance, but the concentration and complexity are lacking. It's almost like a good 2011 cab, with limited upside but an enjoyable drink; just doesn't seem to have the potential for greatness.

11/19/15, 7:52 PM - Thanks. No doubt the lack of a sufficient decant for a 2013 cab could be a big factor in how it performed. Other than tasting at the winery, this was the first time I've had a chance to drink the Three Twins. Seems clear that given the excellent vintage and great winemaking, the vineyard doesn't live up to Beckstoffer sources. I don't have any of the Napa Valley, just sitting on GIII, Dr Crane, and Elysian. Hopefully they will outperform. Myriad and Lewelling are new for me, so this is an experiment of sorts. Hoping the others will live up to wines like Rivers-Marie and Venge for the price point (for Myriad).

11/19/15, 7:58 PM - The Myriad and Lewelling are totally different wines. Plus, I think you screwed yourself opening a bottle two days after shipping and only a short decant. How long had you had the Lewelling? Did you decant?

11/19/15, 8:07 PM - No doubt opening it so soon and with a small decant is a detriment. I will say, however, that in my experience the wines that really suffer from a lacking decant are tightly wound and need significant air. Realm wines come to mind. It didn't appear to be the case with the Three Twins, but I surely could be wrong. I had the Lewelling for about the same amount of time. Unusual for me not to decant all day, but wanted to see what I had. Second half of Lewelling today after 24 hrs open and it was definitely a bit better. At any rate, really hope Three Twins get better for all involved! Still have two bottles to go! Thanks for the feedback.
