December 3, 2015 - 3rd LRA Tasting Event of the Q4 (Enoteca Barolo - Madrid): Still different. It seems the turning point. It hasn't the typical austere aspect of the historical series of 890. It is floral and aromatic. Unthinkable especially because 2004 vintage also should accompany such austerity. In mouth it is chocolaty. It's not bad but it is clearly different. At least to my taste. LRA enologist reaffirm his idea that there's no change, perhaps just a little more time in bottle.

Sigue siendo diferente.

2/16/16, 6:02 AM - How did you find the 2005? I think the 2001 legendary so is it possible that the 2004 will lose its new world focus? The 904 in 2004 cam around after some initial imbalance.

    2/16/16, 7:19 AM - Hi again Sotto325,
Well in my view 2004, 2005 even, were the times when RP Jr was really pressing spanish winemakers with scores so undertandable there is a change of style. At least this is nothing else than aficionado's gossip...
About 2005 890...it is not available yet.
Gonna have a new 890 vertical tasting event in a few weeks then I'll ask enologist what's going on 2005
    Cheers!
