January 9, 2016 - Very disappointing since last time tried. Wine was decanted and drunk over several hours. Very boring. Purple plum in color. No nose to speak of. Bland palate of a touch of sour cherry and not much else. Expected much better.

1/10/16, 8:55 AM - The way you describe it, it almost sounds like the wine may have been very lightly corked - if you have any left in the bottle, check it out in a couple days to see if any tell-tale "cardboard" scents have emerged.

FWIW, this particular vintage has always struck me as one that will take a while to pull itself together, so I guess the other possibility is that you caught that wine in an awkward place in it's development. I still have this, the Fontalloro and the CCR in the cellar, but I have been letting them sit.

1/11/16, 1:04 PM - Hi Bob H, thanks for your comment. I doubt the wine was corked. I am pretty sensitive to this and think I would have picked it up. I tried a bottle of this in 2010 and gave it a 92. Wonderful fruit back then. 2 thoughts. Either the wine shut down or perhaps an off bottle. I think the latter since most recent CT scores and notes are pretty good. My rating could also be a reaction to the missing fruit, since I love fruit in my wine.
